[be'neȓ 'ɣɔi̯ti̯a], Juan, spanischer Schriftsteller, * Madrid 7. 10. 1927, ✝ ebenda 5. 1. 1993; Ingenieur; gilt als einer der bedeutendsten spanischsprachigen Autoren der Gegenwart; wurde entscheidend beeinflusst vom Werk W. Faulkners. In seinen fiktionalen Texten entwarf er - geschult an der Technik des Nouveau Roman - eine rätselhaft-düstere, mehrdeutige Welt des Ungewissen, in der Personen Schemen und historische Prozesse Symbole der Nichtigkeit werden. Auch bedeutender Essayist.
